Roman Polak

elo can be looked at as a great learning experience for the rookie.

Carlo Colaiacovo and Roman Polak will also be vital parts to the Blues' success this season.  Both players were considered by many Blues fans last year as the two best defenseman all-around.  Both players have a slight offensive-upside, but are mostly known for their willingness to track down loose pucks and be stalwarts in their own end.  If these two can recreate their magic from last season, the Blues should be in good shape.

utes.  But he did not live up to the expectations.  Playing mostly with rookie defenseman Roman Polak, he was expected to help mold the young skater into a worthy teammate.  The tables turned quite quickly though; it almost seemed that Polak was put on Jackman's line to cover up his mistakes and bail him out of trouble.  While Roman did enjoy a favorable rookie season, he should not have been called upon as much as he was for the team's number one defenseman.

her, don’t be surprised if we see them together more often in the next coming games…

Roman Polak has proven his spot in the Blues’ lineup.  Even though Polak was one of the key guys that goaltender Manny Legace blasted November 30th (stating, “I need some help out there,” and “Not much support”), the Blues rookie has played strong for the most part, blasting shots from the point when needed and picking up the backdoor more often than not.  He currently has an even plus/minus rating this season.

ques involving how to position themselves to keep the puck in the zone during the power-play.  Roman Polak and Mike Weaver have shown countless times that they are capable of keeping offensive chances going, and could be valuable assets to the man-advantage.  Although the Blues’ defense may not be the best offensive force in the league, they will keep the play alive a lot better than two inexperienced forwards will.

lo could be a top performer for the Blues come April.

The Blues also filled some holes by keeping Roman Polak, Steve Wagner and Mike Weaver on the roster to start the season.  When Jeff Woywitka and Jonas Junland return from injuries, Wagner and Weaver are expected to head back to Peoria.
