Two teams who have been sitting outside of the Stanley Cup Finals for quite some time finally get the chance to win Lord Stanley’s Cup.  Boston has not seen the Finals since 1990 when they lost to the Edmonton Oilers in five games.  The Vancouver Canucks are well-documented in their last Stanley Cup Final appearance, when they lost in that memorable seven-game series to the New York Rangers in 1994.

“He's been unbelievable,” goaltender Roberto Luongo told TSN.  “He's taken his game to a level I have never seen before in the second round.”

The Canucks are set to take on the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference Finals this coming Sunday for game one of their best-of-seven series.  If the Canucks plan to make it past the high-flying Sharks, they have to continue to rely on Kesler to keep his dynamic pace up.

  Not only are the Blackhawks staving off elimination, they are chasing Vezina trophy-finalist Roberto Luongo from between the pipes.

After giving up six goals on 28 shots in game four, Luongo was pulled from his net and was replaced by backup Cory Schneider.  Luongo was even more dreadful in game five, letting in four goals on 12 shots, resulting in being taken out of the game yet again.  Luongo’s GAA in these two games is well above 5.00 and his overall GAA has skyrocketed from 1.67 after the first three games to 3.67 overall.

e, stopping 27 of 28 shots in his only meeting with Vancouver this season.  Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo did post a shutout against the Hawks on December 3, stopping all 25 Blackhawk shots.

t put up much of a better effort than the Blue Jackets in their 4-game series with Vancouver.  Roberto Luongo was impressive in this series, posting a shutout and a league-best .962 save percentage after the sweep.  Game two saw Luongo shutout the Blues with 30 saves, and teammate Alex Burrows had some encouraging words for his goaltender.

Vancouver last Thursday, when he beat many defenders singlehandedly, then roofed it over a sprawled Roberto Luongo.  Perron scored on the game-clinching fourth shootout round against Columbus Saturday night in St. Louis.  Berglund provided the Blues’ big fourth goal against Columbus on Sunday, slamming a backhand against standout rookie goalie Steve Mason. All three players have been spectacular, and are expected to stay that way in the Blues’ last six games of the regular season.
