Alexander Semin struck at 18:24 of overtime, after teammate Jason Arnott batted down a Marc Staal clearing-attempt and slid the puck to Semin who one-timed the shot from beyond the hashmarks.  It was Semin’s first goal in 14 playoff games.

l he was traded in March of 2002, along with teammate Joe Nieuwendyk, to the Devils in exchange for Jason Arnott, Randy McKay and a first-round draft pick. 

Why was Texas the likely-destination? Nieuwendyk is now the general manager for the Stars.

s did not make the Stanley Cup playoffs, but are always involved in the playoff race.  Captain Jason Arnott sparked an amazing end to the season for the Predators, scoring 8 points in the final 4 games after returning from an upper-body injury.  The offensive production of Arnott was not enough though, as the Nashville club missed the playoffs by 3 points.  This team is always very resilient, so it is laughable to ever count them out of playoff contention.
