al Division in 2009-10. With Pavel Datsyuk playing some of the smartest hockey in the league, Henrik Zetterberg putting pucks in the net more often than not and Nicklas Lidstrom stonewalling forwards more than his goaltender, the Red Wings will put yet another powerful product on the ice. ng him an unrestricted free-agent. With the Red Wings spending a good amount of money to keep Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen aboard with unusually long contracts, things look dim on Hossa staying in Detroit. Another reason for this theory is the collapse of General Motors, a company that is based in the Detroit area. Speculation is that season ticket sales will decline next season, along with group tickets and single-game sales. Keeping all of this in mind, GM Ken Holland may hold off on bringing back Hossa for another season. He made $7.5 million in 2008-09.

This is the strength of the Detroit Red Wings; production from everyone on the squad. If Pavel Datsyuk has a bad game, the team looks to the second line to produce, which they usually answer favorably. Datsyuk has not seen the score sheet in ten games after his team's victory on Sunday, but the rest of his team has compensated in every game.
