he adds what the Blues already have; checking line depth. This deal would have made sense if Brad Winchester or B.J. Crombeen would have been moved in a deal today, but now the Blues have solidified the fact that their team is filled with guys that may be healthy scratches elsewhere.

Crombeen and called up winger Brad Winchester from Peoria. Crombeen is known as a scrappy-young winger with a slight scoring touch, but really showed St. Louis what he was made of when he scored a hat-trick against Nashville on December 9th in a 6-2 win. He will definitely add grit to an already feisty checking line.

Crombeen and Brad Winchester were both re-signed this summer as well. Both checkers played big roles in the Blues' comeback year, so they most likely have a good shot of being back on the roster. Crombeen, known sarcastically to many Blues fans as “the hat-trick hero” since scoring a surprising 3-goal game on December 8th in a 6-3 win over Nashville, was a big part in clean hits and puck-cycling throughout last season. Finishing with 12 goals in his rookie campaign, the Dallas Stars were kicking themselves after they let him go on waivers early in the season.

portion of 2009 as a third line center, usually between the likes of gritty wingers Dan Hinote and Brad Winchester. When Tkachuk was on these checking lines, there was always a chance that a puck would cross the opposing red goal line. But his strength came in when he would forecheck and pressure the other team's defenses. Growing a little older, Tkachuk learned to adapt his game and still be a presence even though he cannot score 40 goals in a season anymore.

players throughout the entire season. Blues fans have seen the likes of Rivermen Cam Paddock, Brad Winchester, Steve Regier and Chris Porter so far in 2008, not to mention the waiver wire going directly through the Blues, as tough guys David Koci and B.J. Crombeen were picked up at different points (Koci has since been dropped). With all of these players bouncing around between Peoria and St. Louis, why have there not been any Lemtyugov sightings for Blues fans?
